I can assist you with a variety of editorial services. My photographs are also available for editorial use.

Editorial/Design

My editorial experience is diverse, including work with publications such as NACLA Report on the Americas and Colombia Journal, a period with McGraw-Hill, and years as the editor of the nonprofit networking site, Idealist.org.

Here are some samples of my editing and design work.

I can help you with:

• Editing: Clarifying your text, honing your message, eliminating awkward passages
• Proofreading: Catching costly errors, improving syntax, highlighting ambiguities
• Transcription: From video or audio, years of experience on productions for broadcasters from Discovery Channel to PBS
• Writing and conceptualization: Developing arguments, structuring a piece, drafting copy
• Fact-checking: Verifying details, isolating embarrassing and damaging errors
• Research: Combing through archives, summarizing findings, comparing sources, conducting interviews
• Translation: From Spanish to English, more than a decade of experience in journalistic and academic settings

Additionally, I have significant experience with graphic design, book design, branding logic, and communications—with particular emphasis on nonprofit and charitable endeavors.

Photography

My photographs are available for editorial use. I can deliver a high-resolution file and additional background for any image on the site.

I request a minimal fee for the use of my photos, and am open to granting free use to charitable organizations. If you see a photo that suits your purposes, please contact me.
